Maura Di Mauro

President

She is an intercultural trainer, coach and consultant. She works with different kinds of organizations and industries, designing tailor-made management development programs. She is expert of Diversity & Inclusion process and tools, of competence assessment and development, and of social and sustainable innovation. She works in Italian, English and Spanish, in Italy and abroad. She is author of the book “Organizzazioni e differenze. Pratiche, Strumenti e Strumenti Formativi”. She is adjunct lecturer of Intercultural Management at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Piacenza.

Paola Motta

Vicepresident

She is a consultant and trainer, focusing on the development of personal skills and managerial teams, for public and private organizations and multinational corporations. She also collaborates with several Universities. She is currently focusing on issues as Change Management, organizational roles evolution, people management, managerial skills development, also in international settings. Thanks to her expertise in leadership development and Diversity Management, she held several training courses in Algeria, Croatia, and Romania and managed training the trainers courses addressed to professionals from Argentina and China.

Elizabeth Abbott

Treasury

Originally from the US, Elizabeth has been in Rome, Italy for over 30 years. With a Masters of Science in Management and experience in international development and global cultural exchange, she is an intercultural specialist, ICF-certified coach and trainer guiding and supporting individuals and teams to succeed in international environments.

Elvira Elisa Kalaj

Board Member

È Assistente Sociale e formatrice interculturale. Nata in Albania, laureata in Relazioni Interculturali, programmazione e gestione delle politiche e dei servizi sociali presso l’Università di Milano. Ha collaborato con diverse Organizzazioni Non Governative sviluppando progetti di cooperazione in Albania e Italia su temi sociali (tratta di esseri umani, bambini, persone con disabilità, anziani, ecc.). Dal 2003 lavora per la Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi, e dal 2010 è assistente sociale di comunità coordinando progetti di cooperazione internazionale dove fornisce formazione per formatori sulle competenze interculturali per gli espatriati.

Cristina Volpi

Board Member

Editor of CoachingZone on-line magazine about coaching, counselling and mentoring. Coach in the areas: management, intercultural communication, career and orientation; adopting a personal mixture of Comunicazione Strategica and metaphors, registered as CoachingSkills. Fluents in English and French, can work also speaking Portuguese and German. Has published several books and articles (including crime stories) about the relationship between rules and behaviours.

Peter Anderson

Board Member

Peter helps companies, teachers, adults and teenagers to use English interculturally and to become interculturally competent. He runs a private language school in Bergamo (Northern Italy) and is one of the founder members of SIETAR Italia, which he promotes through free workshops for language teachers in Lombardy. He believes that the aim of the association is to increase the awareness and knowledge of other cultures to ultimately bring understanding and peace in the world.

Maria Mihaela Barbieru

Board Member

She is a sworn translator and interpreter, intercultural mediator and foreign language trainer. Mihaela manages courses and projects of intercultural communication and mediation alongside Italian and French associations. She also conducts and shares her researches and findings with some European universities. The intercultural communication is a core activity as authentic intercultural relationships shall not exist if the main tool of the relationship – which is the communication – do not exist.

Gradiola Kapaj

Board Member

Gradiola was born in Albania, where she graduated in Finance. In Austria, she finished her Master’s in International Business Management and worked with SIETAR Europa as a Congress Coordinator for 2017 Dublin Congress. Since 2017 she is heavily involved with SIETAR Italy in helping the organization to grow. Currently, she is getting certified in Project Management and organizing SIETAR Europa’s 2019 Congress. She speaks fluently Albanian, English and Italian, and has a conversational level of German and Spanish.
